Dashboard release notes

April 20, 2026: v2.2 Release

  • Released 2026 version of the Ready Regions ECCE Supply/Demand Data, updating the dashboard and all locality and legislative profiles.
  • VKRP data reflects full implementation of the Virginia Language and Literacy Screening System (VALLS) statewide, as of fall 2024.
  • Supply/Demand Dashboard now includes ability to look at infant, toddler, and 2-year-old population separately from preschool population in “Population Under 5” page. This calculation uses single year of age population estimates that have slightly different totals for 2020 than were reported in prior releases based on age group population estimates.

December 16, 2025

  • Refined supply data to better identify and exclude before and after school programs from ECCE sites
  • Enhanced the underlying data crosswalk to identify and combine records for a subset of home-based providers in RRCA that were duplicated in the initial supply data
  • Combined licenses into one ECCE location or removed potentially co-located ECCE sites based on more clarity in current LinkB5 and licensing data
  • Ensured that non-VQB5 subsidy-accepting providers were also flagged as publicly funded

November 25, 2025

  • Duplicate records removed for home-based providers Laila Aly (Alexandria City), Sahar Abdalla (Fairfax County), and Susana Villatoro (Fairfax County)
  • Address corrections to place the following ECCE providers more accurately (prior locality → updated locality):
    • Bettye Ackerman-Cobb CDC (Richmond City → Chesterfield County)
    • Carmen Stewart Cruz (Henrico County → Richmond City)
    • Mount Pleasant Elementary (Roanoke County Public Schools) (Roanoke City → Roanoke County)
  • Removed ACAC Adventure Central Kidzclub (Albemarle County) as this location does not provide ECCE services
  • Updated VQB5 URLs

May 14, 2025

  • Added 2024 VQB5 Quality Profile links to ECCE sites on Supply map

April 17, 2025

  • Updated FY25 VPI totals for six localities:
    • Alleghany County
    • Fairfax City
    • Emporia City
    • Isle of Wight County
    • King and Queen County
    • Williamsburg City

These changes impacted the “Publicly Funded Slots” page on the Ready Regions ECCE Supply/Demand Dashboard.

  • Updated the 2025 Ready Regions ECCE Supply/Demand Data (XLSX) and the Ready Region overview pages for Ready Regions Capital Area, Central, Chesapeake Bay, and Southeastern to reflect these updates.

March 31, 2025: v2.1 Release

  • Released 2025 version of the Ready Regions ECCE Supply/Demand data
  • New approach for obtaining Early Head Start/Head Start data for FY25: rather than an end-of-year report, December slot counts were obtained and verified by Ready Regions prior to inclusion on the dashboard.
